Chapter 6 part 1 Complete (of 10 planned chapters)
~30 hours of content

________________________________________________________

Before you sits an expanse of nothingness. It is an empty chasm that draws the idle mind with a numbing sensation of scale and significance. Dotted across the plains are oases of existence. These patches of land are your bastion from the expanse, but within lies god-like beings that care little for your plight. As these Wills enact their will upon the denizens of the expanse, will you become a plaything in their games and whims? Or will you embrace change and power to stand alongside your friends and allies, whatever consequences may come?

Between is an original RPG developed by 6six6 in RPG Maker MV. Taking inspiration from the Persona series, Xenoblade series, Trails/Kiseki series, and Final Fantasy 14 for story and gameplay mechanics, the game sends the player character into a mysterious world where god-like beings called "Wills" can determine fate and meld reality to their whim.

Over the course of the game, the player traverses a variety of uniquely themed dungeons called an "Oasis", where they must struggle against or embrace transformative elements that range from changing sex, catgirls, fantasy heroes, cyberscapes, and more.

They take part in strategic battles designed around offering engaging combat where tactics in preparation and in-battle decision making are key. No grinding is required, and a large amount of flexibility is provided to develop strategies that are your own rather than being the solution.

Difficulty options are provided, and optional superbosses exist across the game's story for those who want to master the combat and truly challenge themselves.

The game has a number of adult themes and scenes. These are uncommon to be the focus, and the approach would be better described as not shying away from said content when appropriate for the story.

This game has been my passion project since late 2020, and the response to it from the  community has pushed me on to keep refining and expanding it as my plan for the story develops in each release. If you are reading this and think this sounds interesting, I sincerely hope you can enjoy it as well!

Reminders

  • The ReadMe folder includes a minimum spoiler Game Manual for more in-depth looks at the mechanics, a spoiler filled Walkthrough should you ever need one, guides for installation/patching/save transfers as needed, and credits/patch notes.
  • There is a system for speeding through cutscenes faster on repeated playthroughs. This is assigned to Page Down on keyboard or R1 on controller.
  • ATTENTION MAC USERS: You need to put the "Game" file in your Application folder. Or else any action that accesses the save system will fail and crash the game.
  • ATTENTION MAC USERS: Newer versions of the MAC OS are not compatible with RPG Maker MV games. This game's Macintosh release requires older OS software to run.

Does my character HAVE to turn into a woman? Is there a way to prevent it?

in the long term? Mostly. In individual area stories the temporary changes are more set in stone.

The primary advancement in the Liebra side quests are optional. You can minimize how many classes you get and pick ones that are more unisex changes (each tier has at least one meant to be like that). And you can avoid other changes. And there’s a change later that restores down under

After chapter one, I believe I didn’t add any changes that weren’t voluntary. But it’s certainly more something to work for than the standard way to play

(+1)

are there images for explicit scenes or other scenes i haven't seen many just want to make sure it's not bugged

(+1)(-1)

I don’t think there is much notably explicit art currently. It’s not typically been a priority as per voting amongst patrons, at least currently

(+1)

that's fine just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything

(+1)(-1)

played this game a while back on tfgamessite, and really liked it, but the changing game systems made it hard to stick with from update to update.

overall great work but i hope to give this a good playthrough once it's complete.

(1 edit) (+1)(-1)

Really enjoyed this game. Worldbuilding is super interesting and the characters and writing is great!

I'm not really into forced feminisation but everything else was so high-quality that I still had a great time. I really appreciate how the player is given the option to resist some of the changes, although it's a shame that Liebra's side quests' transformations are forced. I understand the story reason for it, but I wanted my Bennet to explore bisexuality and it felt a bit of a shame to have to go through all of that to get the option. The story and lore from that series of side quest is so good that I'm glad I did it, but I do wish that some of the more radical transformations were opt-out-able (the extra-long hair and the anime eyes that look kind of weird on your face)

RPGmaker turn based combat can get a bit dull and stat-check-y, but I think you did a great job of making the fights a good level of challenging, and making the player's options varied and reactive enough to keep you on your toes and stop you from getting into into a single optimal loop (although the bosses are maybe a little tanky for my liking, playing at the hardest difficulty). The only fight that felt imbalanced was the first ?chapter 4? fight where your party splits into a group of 2 and a group of 1. I couldn't beat the boss for the pair at all and had to drop the difficulty down to normal.

Having completed the game up to the end of ch 5 (waiting for 6 to fully release before playing it), I was surprised that I didn't come across any real explicit scenes, bar heavy innuendo and some slightly explicit transformation scenes. Are they not yet in the game (EG reserved for late game character reputation side quests) or did I miss them by choosing a low-acceptance route?

(Also the music is great! Is it available anywhere online?)

(-1)

Happy to hear you enjoyed it despite that! My inspirations led me to try and make games where the TG elements are a pillar of it over the core driving force of everything, so that's a good sign on that working out.

And yeah, I can be a but trigger shy on explicit scenes. They tend to be in the bad end scenes, or at least some of them, bar a few notable scenes. There's also an independent variable that accumulates from choices you make on making more lewd choices that will sort of passively opt you in or out of more explicit versions of some scenes. So while they're not numerous, there's a chance you may have gotten the less explicit versions by accident.

For music, it varies a lot. They come from licensed music packs and music from free creators that make them for games. There's a bunch of sources in the credits document, but if you're interested in any specific ones I can always try to direct you to the right place for where that's distributed.

Oh wow I had no idea that kind of stuff was freely available for creators, that's really cool! Don't worry, I'll check the credits document now that I know they're there. Thanks for the great game =)

I love this game, but the worst part is getting lost and turning into water causing a bad ending and forgetting to save and needing to do an entire section over again. :()

(1 edit) (+1)

Can anyone tell me what is the currently max of acceptance points? in v0.14.2? I also want to point out that this is the best RPG game ever made in general.

(1 edit)

thank you for the kind words.

The walkthrough has a section on where you can get acceptance points. So I’d just be reiterating that since I don’t remember exact max numbers off the top of my head.

Edit: will also note that the most recent point hasn’t technically been applied yet, if you’re looking at values at end of content

i think in 0.14.2 the max is 12 acceptance

(1 edit) (+1)

This game is really freaking cool.

I have 40 hours now, and just reached the end of chapter 6 and I cant wait for more. I installed not even a week ago and I cant believe Im already finished lol. I´m just currently farming for the pony in the hole since ive got nothing else to do and I noticed that the superbosses of chapter 2 dont appear in the hole like the one from chaper 0? is it because its in an unreachable superboss so it was put in the hole, or will they all appear there once you first discover how to get to them?

The changing features of the main character are really attractive and I would love if there were more hairstyles (Like twin tails, one long braid in the middle or the different hair styles the MC gets throughout all the scenarios)

I´ve also noticed that Chpater 3 is not rewritten in the spoiler walkthrough so I had to follow the old guide, and some items had different names os i was cofnused when i went to see if I got everything that they had different names. Overall is very very fun and Im looking forward to more updates in the future.

happy to hear you’ve enjoyed it!

Yeah, the prologue superboss was made available in the Hole because it becomes inaccessible. I’ve had thoughts about later accessibility to them all, but nothing concrete or decided.

For the walkthrough, it got revamped in chapter 4 along with big gameplay changes at the time. So I’ve been slowly updating the old stuff as to not burn myself out in it. Chapter 3 main story is what is left, basically.

For hairstyles, there are some variations via the 4 in the main story and some of the superboss normal+ rewards having alternatives outfits with different ones. But in general the backbone of how things are setup on a technical level makes it unlikely I can do significantly more than I already have (I’ve learned a lot since I started but I’d have to redo large amounts of the game to realistically change it to something more flexible )

Outside of those points, I hope you continue to enjoy it and I can live up to expectations

"Where there is a Will, there is a way."

So here I am, Lotion on my D*ck, wanting to get a good story game with H-Scenes and TF Elements, and now what do I got? PEAK CINEMA, an aching Heart, an insufferable giddiness, and I know, that I'll cry myself to sleep tonight.

I kinda knew this was one of these Games where you come for the P*rn and stay for the Story, but man did I cum for the Story...
(Playtime: 46hrs)

I just wanted to say, this Game is frankly the best RPG Maker game I have played in a long time. The Writing and Worldbuilding alone is so incredibly well done, I even ended up philosophizing with the characters, in-character, during some of the stronger scenes. But Honestly, the Idea and said Worldbuilding itself is already so good, that I have no doubt, that if this Game were to be written as a Novel, then it'd easily be a bestseller and an instant buy from me.

The Characters themselves are so well-written and likeable, to the point, where I didnt even care if they were going to be Love-Interests later on. I just knew that I bloddy loved them and that was enough for me.

Some smaller nitpicks are simply the Fighting mechanics and frequency. I dont play many RPG-Maker titles due to the fact, that many suffer from this Problem, but it wasn't a big mood-killer here. And since I played on Story mode, I never really felt as though the Fights were Gatekeeping the Story.

This Masterpiece has left me with the same hype and frustration, as when an episode of an absolute banger of an anime drops, only to end on a cliffhanger and plot-twist towards the end of the Season, and now you're screaming at the Monitor like "What!? When's the next Episode!?" and you know that it's gonna be a week of patient suffering until the next one drops.

All in all, 9/10 (not enough H-Scenes)
This is the Type of Game, that I would tell my Children to play instead of Fortnite. This Game has more Food for Thought and more Life-Lessons than School ever had for me! :D

Very kind of you to say. I’m happy you’ve enjoyed it. 😊

I can’t promise a ton on the H-scene side (it doesn’t come as intuitively to me), but hopefully I can keep it at a quality you continue to enjoy to this level

The MC completely forget Harper when he/she meet Penny, lol

I don't understand, why the MC didn't tell his name when he meet Penny ? And why he didn't find Harper first, since she alone in the castle (Didn't he care about her and don't want her follow him at the beginning) ? Why he didn't tell Penny the current situation and tell Penny about Harper ? With everything happen in the forest, he should know that something wrong and the top priority is wake his friends first. Why he didn't say anything, everything is in his mind and he just let Penny realize by herself ? Why ? Does Penny has ability to read other's mind ?

MC is embarrassed by the idea that Penny would see him in that getup as him. So he pretends to not be until he can't anymore (but while still trying to help). And he's a bit trapped by the "story" he's being brought along to properly search for others. So he's focusing on helping Penny with hopes to find a sign of the others as he goes. That's the idea.

(2 edits)

That would be not so logic. Why the "embarrassed" more important than his/her friend life ? And why the "get along with the story" help him/her to find his/her friend ? Normally people will explain the current situation and find the "friend" first, then solve the story later. Else, it make the whole conversation at the beginning between MC and Harper seem non-existent.

Btw i'm stuck at the second laser gate and don't want to use the walkthrough/manual. Working on it, you guys know how to wreck other's mind, lol

The alphabet and number hint seem useless, for example:

Dominion (37) - roll test many rounds:

- Steps from A: 3-14-12-8-13-8-14-13 (or 35384854) => wrong both case

- Steps between letters are: 11-2-4-5-5-6-1 (or 2245561 not enough 8 letters/numbers and the 11-2-4-5-5-6-1 are 9) => wrong both case

I didn’t say it was more important. MC doesn’t see a need for revealing it until later. And they didn’t have much choice in looking for Harper or not.

As for the puzzle, any help I’d give would just be me noting what’s written in the walkthrough, so I’d suggest that (specifically the “old walkthrough” since that section needs to be updated still in the new walkthrough style). Not entirely sure what you’re referring to with your logic and numbers there, but you may be overcomplicating it

(1 edit)

I mean when input the wrong code, Harper humming E F G then A B C D etc...and Cal gave a hint A to B is 1, A to C is 2 and A to A is 0. But, maybe i overcomplicating it, will try again.

I’m still not sure what you’re referring to with that.

The code is just the letters you shift them (1 has D to E for example)

(1 edit) (+1)

all the passwords are 8 characters long and the thing they give you has +10100101 written on it, which is an 8 digit number

Thank you, i didn't check the scrap and that's why i don't see the +10100101 thing.

(1 edit) (+1)

It took an embarrassing amount of time to understand why my own application of the hint was incorrect, especially as it fit with most of the in-game hints.

As extra clues:

Hint 1 Later hints may look like +10202010. Would your understanding work with that clue too?
Hint 2Ever hear of a Caesar cipher?
Super HintThere's two elements to this puzzle. The first is knowing which password is the correct one, which is covered at the first gate, but if it changes after a certain amount of steps there'd have to be a pattern?

Thank you, i understand the pattern of the code and have a list of code. Didn't check the scrap and that's why i input the wrong one

(+1)

I waited for the next update and finally it has come, THANK YOU🙏

I’m stuck in chapter three just after the incident where Bennett gets sucked into the phone and escapes. The quest just says try to find a way to get your party out of a rut but I’m not sure where to start as I’ve looked everywhere. If anyone could help with this I would appreciate it.

You need to talk to Adam, basically (in the room area of the hotel)

Is there gona be a Walkthrough for 0.14.2 - Chapter Six?

This was included in the recent patch release for 0.14.2

One other thing I wanted to check; is there a status / situation where you can't target an ally with a heal / buff skill when previously you could?

Especially around the Chapter 3-2 battles (but not only), there were a few times where I went to use a heal skill and found I was locked to only one target. Haven't noticed it in recent chapters, might be something to do with lower tier'd classes??

I’m guessing it’s the mouse controls? People can see their mouse position override their keyboard/controller selection for targeting choices.

Reached the end of current content (hopefully we’ll have a side quest break soon; there hasn’t been one since the start of Chapter 5 I don’t think…); if I feel like trying again I’ll see if I can replicate it.

Yep, yep. Next release will focus on some side quest additions

Minor issue with the patch files; updating to 0.14.2 from 0.14.1; I couldn't trigger the scene in chapter 6 where after completing one of the four switch puzzles the effect of the switch would be triggered.
In the end I realised I'd done a goof, rolled back a save, tried again, then re-downloaded 0.14.2 from here and that worked.

(To cite the part in the walk-through: (ch6 p109 "Continuing the Story")

- After the first area, you’ll get a short scene about needing to return to the main area.

-> doable

- Once you do, you’ll be automatically placed into a scene that’ll bring back [spoiler] and open up a [spoiler] to explore and finish.

-> doesn't trigger if manually patching from 0.14.1)

Speaking of; it may be useful in a future edition of the walk-through that the terminal puzzles that feature through chapter 6 do not progress towards a bad end if you reset the puzzle after reaching the goal; unlike when they first appear in an earlier chapter. (I honestly thought I'd softlocked myself the first time it comes up in chapter 6.)
--
Anyway, excellent game; rpg maker is kinda notorious for working around cutscene skipping but if you could work out a way to increase the pace of them instead perhaps, without somehow throwing off such tightly scripted scenes?
Or perhaps take (another) leaf out of MMOs and see if you can add a way to skip cutscenes into unwritten chapters / jumping to the next required decision, setting flags accordingly afterwards and then maybe retrofitting that as you've capacity??

Otherwise I can't get enough of the game, lore and worldbuilding (No really, the plot twists have been great and I had a visceral reaction to the end of Chapter 5). Walk-through itself is structured and built really well and kinda essential to read along with to find all the extra bonuses one may easily miss on a blind play through. Keep up the great stuff <3

Happy you enjoyed it!

For the fast forward there was actually a helpful fan that gave me something that speeds to the entire game properly so it shouldn’t mess up the timing. Straight up skipping is a massive ask, though. I wouldn’t expect it bar the chapter skip

I’m a bit confused on the bug you described though, since I didn’t touch that part from 0.14.1 to 0.14.2. Any chance you could detail it more (here or the discord?)

(+1)

Good to hear! No worries; maybe sub-chapter skips in line with the headings in the walk-through? This game is a deliciously slow burn but that also means it takes - time - to get to certain content you may wish to try differently.

I’d removed the dodgy files and saves not long after I posted; if something like this happens again I’ll let you know~

(2 edits) (+1)

Hello! I honestly wasn't sure what the best place between here or discord would be for a full review type message so I went here. I've tried to keep this as free of spoilers as possible just in case other folks read it.

First off I just want to say this game is absolutely beyond fantastic!! I haven't enjoyed a  story based game like this is a really, really long time. My file's sitting at about 90 hours right now and I started about.... err. Five days ago, tops. So that's a bit scary but WHAT CAN I SAY, WHEN IT'S GOOD IT'S GOOD. It would probably be even longer if I hadn't saved myself into the hole at the end of chapter 6 part 1, LOL. Sorry this is going to be a bit of a long ramble here but I really wanted to give, like. An equal amout of feedback for time spent! Or, well. Hopefully not literally equal, teehee.

Not what I was expecting at all from downloading another TF game off itch.io but I am SO delighted I tried. Admittedly I had been looking more for shit like Fenoxo games at the time but I was so hooked on this barely a scene in I completely forgot I was looking for, well. Y'know. Other stuff.

The story is genuinely really fucking interesting. I usually feel like things start to drag in really long games like this especially after the 50-60 hour mark, but not at all here! Every single chapter I've been climbing at the walls to keep going and read more, I feel like the casino Will LMFAO. Fantastic pacing and reader engagement. Twists and turns have mostly varied between feeling like slow, awful realizations (in a good way!) and shocking slaps in the face (still in a good way!). You present everything in the story in such an intruiging, mysterious way that it's not just the characters that want to find out more about the situation. I've got a couple of theories myself and I can't wait to see if they're right!

I think a big part of why the story is so engaging is also the characters. They're insanely endearing! I'm super fond of the entire cast. Character writing feels consistant and solid, they have strong personalities without being overbearing, and each character very clearly has development and an arc to go through even if we can't see the whole picture yet. Honestly a better cast than a good number of professional games I've played recenty, the writing is just fantastic and the number of little interactions and dialogues you have plays a big part in that. When I talk to a character who has something new to say, I never feel like I don't get anything out of that conversation. Even if it's just silly small things, it never feels pointless. That's really really hard to do, I think, let alone for 90+ hours of gameplay. You should be proud of what you've got here, it's really something special!

My favorites are probably Liebra and Cal. I get really excited whenever I get to see more of them. A certain familiar orange [redacted] from chapter 6, too, I'm probably going to die if I don't get to see what was up with that.

Honestly it's so good that I've been trying to see if I can get a few good long time friends who aren't really into the TF scene but are really into things like Umineko and Persona to play. Those have been awkward conversations. "no, no, listen, you'll see what I mean, you'll get it just give it a try-"

The gameplay itself is very unique! I can for sure see the XIV influence in alot of it, surprising idea to try to mix with turn based systems but I think it worked out well! Long time raider in XIV so I've been pretty delighted by alot of it. leonardo di caprio pointing meme every time i saw something I recognized, LOL. I really like the implementation of the tank busters and aggro mechanics, they felt like they made the most sense. Great job! All in all it made for a really freshly unique experience as a whole that I can't say is much like any other game I've played.

The maps have all been fairly easy to navigate and explore (good thing) with very minimal frustration in that department. Each zone is wildly different enough to keep things new and interesting consistantly. Puzzles have varied in difficulty, some being real headscratchers and others fairly simple. Good to have a balanced mix, I think! I really appreciate the options to brute force most things if you can't figure it out. I mostly refused to use them and was still able to get through fine, but I liked that the option was there. The only part so far where I got too frustrated to continue normally was the trial.

It wouldn't be a full review without talking about the TFs. Honestly a fairly shocking range all things considered with occasionally more reflection than I would expect for things like current hair or other permanent TFs. I love that you can buy them for the wardrobe, too! It's alot of fun. The ones that happen by surprise through action choices are my favorites, I'd love to see more of those. I also really like how respectful the writing and overall game is towards how the player decides to handle Bennet's mental state. There's occasionally some stuff that was a bit off to me, but the majority felt about as respectful to gender issues as a TF game is reasonably going to get, LOL. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the characters at least didn't misgender Bennet if I tried to keep them as a guy.

I think most of the technical bugs I ran into were already mentioned in the discord. I'm fairly sure that at one point I used an item labeled to heal the whole party and it only healed a single person (some kind of first aid kit?) but honestly at this point I don't really remember so I can't say for sure. Could be worth a check.

For critical feedback, I don't think I have much but there WERE a few things that lightly bothered or annoyed me. This is all very personal opinion type feedback, so if you don't wanna consider it or even read it that's totally fine too xD I just wanted to give a full rundown of my experience since it WAS a rather long game in the event it might help development or provide a different viewpoint. I'm a bit of an idiot though, so mileage may vary LOL.

My biggest complaint is probably an issue I ran into a couple of times with side quests in that I very much wanted to do all of them and scoured the hotel trying to pick up new quests every chance I got, but the cast is quite large after a point and it took me a while to realize characters could be outside, too. I wound up missing a couple and by the time the chapter actually properly ended and it notified me that I'd missed a quest, there was always a couple hours of scenes or bosses between me and the save from before I agreed to end the chapter (if i'd remembered to save on a new file at all. oops!). I wound up not going back for them because I didn't want to redo everything, but I was pretty disappointed about it. I would have really appreciated either the notification for failing sidequests to appear earlier as soon as you get locked out from doing them, or some kind of warning that you specifically still have quests you can pick up that will get closed if you continue! I totally understand if that's just not the vision for the game, though. If one of those DOES exist already and I just didn't realize that's what it was, it might be nice if it was a bit clearer? To be fair I was also avoiding the walkthrough because I wanted to do everything myself, LOL. Monkey's paw and all so like I said I completely understand that one's on me, hehe.

Second kinda ties into the first a bit, I really want to replay the game from the start and start fresh to make different choices and try new things (and/or hunt down those quests I missed, LOL) but as it is there are just SO many scenes even with the fast forward. I understand not being able to skip every scene because of choice options and stuff, but maybe if possible it might be nice for replayability to impliment the ability to skip scenes that don't have them at all?

Other than that... I dunno! All minor stuff. I like the face swap option from the hole because I personally thought the old face was alot cuter and was really sad when it changed, but the outfit it's stuck to isn't really to my taste. I'd love the ability to leave the hole and wander around the map goofing off after hitting the content end. The ONLY part of the story where I got a bit annoyed was the bit of trying to find the party member in the school (first visit), if only because I felt like the writing had made it really obvious which student it was and it felt sort of weird that Bennet didn't pick up on it at all whatsoever and it got made into such a big deal. Not really a problem or anything, just a bit that felt odd to me personally.

I am going to stop now otherwise I will ramble as long as my save file. Thank you very very much for the hard work you've put into this project and for sharing it with us, this was honestly one of the best games I've played in months! I honestly cannot WAIT for the next part of chapter 6, I'm super excited. (Take your time of course, LOL.) Haha... I want to... draw fanart.... just a bit. Utterly fantastic game, thank you again!

I can express how much I appreciate hearing your thoughts on it. There's a LOT to parse through here.
it's given me some thoughts, particularly about the side quest stuff.

I will also note that skipping scenes outright is not really on the table from a technical perspective. But I do have the chapter skip option in the game start for those who want to jump to specific chapters for either replaying it or because they lost their save or something.

Other than that, thank you so much for the kind words. If you've ever anymore comments or feedback, I'd be open to hear it then too (discord is usually easier for a proper conversation if that is desired). There's a lot to parse through so I'll probably be thinking on ways I can use your feedback to improve it for a while.

I hope you continue to enjoy it!

(+1)

The sidequest thing is totally just a personal opinion born from my runthrough & like I mentioned earlier I was also intentionally avoiding the walkthrough so a certain amount of missed content is probably to be expected, hehe. I think your vision for how you want the game to be and feel is most important for sure, so take it with a grain of salt! I'm just happy to hear the feedback might help. <3

I honestly was wondering if skipping scenes was even feasible with rpgmaker, I know it can be pretty restricting. Makes total sense that it isn't, and I appreciate the fast forward function enough to get by!

Thank YOU for the fantastic game! I'm sure I will keep enjoying it. If I think of anything else to say or wind up drawing any fanart, I'll be sure to take it to discord. <3

I’m notorious for wanting that sort of feedback, so never feel like you need to hold back.

Is there somewhere I can see the images of all the area-specific transformations, for... reasons?  '-w-

there’s an art gallery in the Hole in the Ground (bonus area available at start of ch 3)

Ooh sick, I haven't fully explored that place yet, ty! ^^

Patch: 0.14.1
First encounter, killed the mirage like creature ~ now the text/system no longer reflects reality.
With frost dot from Rime 2k/turn, which did not execute the creature, had to finish it off with another Rime.

(1 edit)

interesting, iirc on the fight, you shouldn’t be able to defeat the enemy back there, so… yeah. Will look into that, thanks. Hopefully it didn’t break your progression at least

Sounds a little like Torg...

Can’t say I’ve heard of it before. But looking it up it sounds pretty neat, though even just reading an overview for it I’d say the similarities might be more surface deep, as a note

How much do you need

What about Android

I might try to make a build way down the line. But I lack anyway to even try and test that it would even start let alone the rest.

Joiplay works just fine although a lot of the maps are laggy but nothing that is a big problem.

goddamn a new update

(+1)

Love the game so far, kinda miffed I missed so much in chapter one tho... thinking of loading a save abd restarting, but at the same time, my pc is trash and barely runs it, so might have to make due... rip me, Its really good though, I shoulda just read the walkthrough if I didnt wanna miss anything lol

(+1)

I can’t wait for chapter 6 or more, the story is really cool and I really want to know what this all-white place is, looking forward to the next chapters.

(+1)

Im still playing it and want to know on the date mall trip with penny, is there a specific name to put? Also what happens if you just put your characters name? Im using Joiplay to playit and it is working 100%

it doesn’t react to anything but if you keep it the same. Really it’s just a way to customize that nickname

also happy to hear Joiplay has worked for you. It definitely has a risk of not working.

(+2)

when there will be a new update?

(+3)

As long as it takes to finish. Usually I can get content updates out in ~3-4months of the previous release. Usually.

(+2)

thanks for answering cause im excited to play the next update this game is getting me actually a bit anxious hahaha

(+2)

Happy you’ve enjoyed it, and hopefully I can finish up the release in a timely manner. I make monthly updates on my discord with status updates for everything I work on. But it is ultimately something I do in my spare time so I appreciate any patience you have to give.

(+2)

its alright if it takes time a rushed out update is never nice because perfection requires time to be made if it takes some time its okay i wish to play another awesome chapter/chapters of the story which was thought out with a calm mind rushing out updates is not good for the mind or body not saying it stresses out alot, and has high risk of burn out. i know that not because im a dev but because my life is always in a rush without a single time to take a breathe and take time for myself...

(+2)

Aw, that's unfortunate. I hope you can take some more time for yourself soon.
And yeah, I'll do my best to do the next update as best as I can.

After having completed the current content, I have to say this game is really really good, I don't what I expected when on a whim decided to download it, this review comes from someone that has played almost every FF, Persona, a bunch of Smt, some DQ and the first 7 generations of pokemon and really loves rpg as a genre, while I won't talk about the battle system, i have to say is really fun and I love the no levels twist as it really allows the game to be a little non linear in certain parts.

Each chapter feels unique with different ambience and a good plot that kept me enthralled the whole 40 hours it took me to completed it because I decided to play slowly and enjoy the ride. the only real bad point I have is with the artstyle, the commisioned art for the game is really good but maybe becaused is still unfinished it uses a lot of default assets from rpgmaker, which is a shame because I would love to see the game with a more defined artstyle and music.

The transformation aspect is interesting mainly because of how optional certain parts of its are most of the changes are linked to choices you make during the main story and sidequest, because of that the game is full with different dialogue that changes according to some of these changes, there are some mandatory ones, including my favourite aspect, the multiple appearances the group take during the adventure which well comes in hand with the idea of between in the title, a 'transition from one stage to the other' .

Also the characters are well written and the group dinamic works for me a lot, they feel like believable people with actual story between themselves and funny interactions, their reactions to the protagonist changes makes my day.

Harper my beloved gremblin energy friend.

I would loved to speak about each chapter in detail, in particular 3 and 5 but I want to avoid spoil the surprises this game has.

If i had to gave this an score it would be 4/5 Really good for what content is in, it could change depending on any new content in the future, as I said the main drawback for me its the inconsistent artstyle which I hope could improve in the future, I literally created this account because I wanted to express how much I loved it.

Sorry for any instances of broken english as it isn't my main language

Now to wait for the next update, hope this proyect does end up being a finished product. thanks for anyone who read this and sorry if it is a little long.

Fun game with a good story

(+4)

i was scrolling through tfgames when i stumbled upon nightshift... which led me to petrichor, which led me to this. and HOLY hell am i glad i did. this game has left me feeling more impressed from a story than i have for a while. a lot of tf-based games are more focused on the tfs themselves over an actual story, so this is really refreshing. and the story itself has captivated me from start to the as of now finish! it being prioritized over the usual NSFW appeal is something i've been looking for in a game for a while, and the option to completely opt out of it makes it even better. characters are amazing too, and gameplay was fun (altho that could be my lack of exposure to rpg maker). i would write more but i think any more and it would be considered fan mail... so just keep up the good work!! ^ ^

How do I see sex lost or quest but why I lost game over I don't know bro

start at beach, enter. Then change areas using the cardinal directions via that thing you said (N=North, etc… with m=middle). Unless there’s something else unclear?

It is very rare that a game with rpgmaker attracts me but between..... although I was stressed in chapter 5 I must confess that it left me a little addicted and I already want to play it in the final version xD, keep up the good work.. .OwO

(+3)

I hope this game will be completed.

(+3)

I’ve been working on it consistently since 2020, so even if it comes along slowly I am quite committed to completing it and have found good ways to avoid burnout as part of that.

(+3)

Don't ever overwork yourself, I had seen alot of creators on this site giving up their project because of irl problems and it's honestly disheartening for me to see an amazing game like this one gone.

(+1)

This is great, I only have the minor complaint that the close up art is much better than the art used to represent the characters in text boxes and both are in slightly different styles, is this a limitation or a preference?

(+1)

The reason the text box characters is different from the art one is because RPG maker planform already have their own character customization for the creator to choose how they wants their character to look like, and it's more convenient to use those already built in character customization for showing their character expressions rather than draw it.

(+1)

The game was originally designed to not use any commissioned art at all, so the text box art uses the mentioned character generation that comes with the engine (plus sourced parts to be usable in it). When it got bigger and more popular and I started commissioning art, I focused on things that’d be ‘nice to have’s for the art and weren’t in the game before, rather than trying to replace what I already had in another form. TBD on if the text box portrait art ever changes, but it’d be a massive undertaking to replace.

I NEED MORE!

(2 edits) (+2)

I just completed the game current version and i will now review it.

Firstly the mechanic

Everything about this game fight mechanic is pretty good, it might not look anything special at first gaze but the team combo and tactics mechanic of the game is unlike anything i seen in turn based games nowadays, because you have to think what is best to use to actually win and not spamming stun ability to make your enemies skip their turn.

Now to the story (no spoiler)

The story is very compelling i could tell the creator really put their effort into it, sure this is erotic genre RPG maker game but the sexual content is kept at minimum, which is a good move tbh since this game story in each chapters is so serious most of the time you probably will forget this is an adult game. Well technically the focus is on transformation of the MC body idk if you guys gonna find that sexual or not.

Criticism

The shards gacha is honestly cool and all but i don't wanna waste time gambling for the shard i want, maybe make it so you can summon an entity in a dream and challenges them to obtain the named shard you want? Would be cool to be able to have mulan boss fight.

Also some of the quests is too confusing for example the chapter 1 part 1 quest where you have to find 5 items around the map and then talk to everyone about everything but then you would have to go out and return and talk to them again before you'll be able to continue the story.

Honestly if there wasn't a walkthrough of the game i would get stuck alot.

Cool story!

I have a question, I know how Jenna can upgrade my stuff but I kind of skipped the part where you get specified things, like Fine Lean Meat, or is it just by fighting enemies to get them.

Enemy drops primarily yes. The rarer items will also become more common as the game progresses. Hole in the ground has more opportunities to get drops in the gauntlet or parlor mode options

I have notice that a IntraSystem book but you should also try adding a bestiary so people could look into finding specific materials. So I hope this suggestion will help with gameplay and grinding.

Something I have and will consider, whether in the walkthrough or otherwise. Though I'll likely do so later in the game when enough of it is done for me to be comfortable reassessing all the drops and updating those at that point.

(1 edit) (+1)

It would have been great if there was a way to cheat to get more items. Have a cheat option in the hole when you get resources, for tokens. like the cheat does so you can get 10 times more resources for every battle. And a super OP weapon for the MC that gives her a 80 attack power.

The game is great but I am a little disappointed that there are 0 sexual scenes. This game is pretty much just an RPG maker game.

I give it 9.9 out of 10. The 0.1 is for the H scenes.

Keep up the amazing good work.

I will note that there are some. Some in bad ends, and a at least one notable one in the main story. There will also be more in the future, of course, if based on how the story. (They also can be opted out of, to note, if you choose less horny options when progressing through the story).

But yeah. My priority in game making is Story>Gameplay>TF-TG Experience>Sexual Content. So I don't force it if I don't feel like it's what matches the story. I'll be open about that. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy it regardless.

I came to the end of Chapter 6. I am looking forward to ch 7 and the rest. Oh yeah when you play the side quest for Harper and meet Kiera. Those 2 other options familia and big sibblings when you make the promise. Was those 2 always an option in the game or are they coming out in the future update?

(1 edit)

Those options are based on if your previous choices gained enough affection to pass around the halfway point of maxing her affection. So they’re locked out if you don’t. But, to note, the other option is not meant to be lesser or more. Just a different path.

The option when it says if I want sexual scenes opt-in or opt-out.

Opt-in is with sexual scenes right? I can be a bit slow sometimes.

That is correct

(+1)

This is surprisingly well made for adult RPG maker game, both gameplay and story wise.

(+1)

just a funny little question, will I be able to transfer my current save data to the finished game?

(1 edit) (+1)

Saves are transferable between versions, yes. There’s some more detail in a ReadMe file attached. But it basically is just moving the save folder into the new version

As for the finished version specifically, I’m not planning any changes to the game that’ll break saves, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it does happen.
